This iconic property has undergone a dramatic transformation, and I was lucky enough to get a firsthand look at the incredible changes, culminating in the launch of their showstopping new restaurant, Rumorosa.

From the moment I stepped into the lobby of the marina tower, it was clear that the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina had embraced a whole new level of sophistication. A Culinary Adventure Awaits at Rumorosa
The crown jewel of the entire experience was undoubtedly Rumorosa, the Sheraton’s brand-new Cali-Baja restaurant. Stepping into Rumorosa felt like stepping into another world. The vibrant atmosphere buzzed with energy, while the floor-to-ceiling waterfront views added a touch of coastal charm.
But the real star of the show was the food. Rumorosa’s menu from Executive Sous Chef Cesar Oceguera is a celebration of authentic Baja flavors, infused with the laid-back spirit of San Diego. We embarked on a culinary journey, sampling an array of dishes – starting with fresh Guacamole, spicy Tuna Tostadas and a robust Caesar Salad. Next we dined on a flavorful Roasted Whole Local Fish, tenderly Grilled 24oz Bavette Steak, Bone-In 14oz Kurobuta Pork Milanesa, and my favorite, the mouthwatering Achiote Crispy-Skin Salmon. We ended our meal with a decadent dessert of Charred Corn Crepas, that was absolutely delicious. Every bite was a perfect explosion of taste and texture, showcasing the innovative spirit of Chef Oceguera.
A Weekend of Immersive Experiences
My weekend wasn’t just about admiring the beautiful hotel renovations and dining at Rumorosa. The hotel team curated a fantastic itinerary that truly allowed me to experience the essence of the new Sheraton. We participated in a fun and interactive salt blending session in La Sala, Rumorosa’s private dining room, creating personalized blends for cocktails, meats, and fish with breathtaking harbor views as our backdrop. This unique activity set the tone for a getaway filled with unexpected delights.
Sailing into Luxury: A Harbor Cruise with Light Bites & Breakfast Cocktails
Another highlight of the weekend was the incredible Harbor Cruise with Zolna Yachts aboard the luxurious Nerissa. As we glided across the sparkling water, we were treated to a selection of tasty light bites and refreshing breakfast cocktails. The stunning panorama of San Diego’s skyline provided the perfect setting for relaxation and indulgence.

In addition to a new look and new restaurant, the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina is the perfect oasis for those seeking a holistic experience.
