As your resident carnivore, I am excited to share the news that all Barney’s Beanery locations are now serving their own version of the Juicy Lucy ($17+), a nod to the famous Minnesotan classic. Don’t cha know, Juicy Lucy is line of burger patties stuffed with gooey melted cheese on the inside – pretty brilliant if you ask me. Choose from three different varieties. First is the Three Cheese Juicy Lucy Juicy Lucy, the traditional stuffed with cheddar, Swiss, and Jack, topped with pickles, tomato and Barney’s sauce. The Spicy Jalapeño is a delicious patty stuffed with pickled jalapeños, American and cheddar cheese, with just the right amount of fire. And last but not least, my favorite, the BBQ Bacon Juicy Lucy, stuffed with BBQ sauce, bacon, onions, American and cheddar cheese.
The burgers also come with a side (onion rings, fries, salad, or others) which you most likely won’t finish because this burger is HUGE. At 1/3 lb. each, along with the fixings and the toppings, that is one generous meal. In the words of Sam L. Jackson’s character in Pulp Fiction – “MMM, this is a TASTY BURGER.”
As always, Barney’s has wall to wall TVs perfect if you want to catch any sports games, but for those looking to take it easy, Juicy Lucy will soon be available to buy frozen in the store so you can cook these decadent burgers anytime you want. Dry January is over, it’s rainy in LA, so why not snuggle up at home and treat yo’ self.
