The Rooftop by JG at the world-famous Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is the perfect place for an unforgettable al fresco dining experience created by award-winning, Michelin Star Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The premier rooftop restaurant atop the hotel’s 12th floor is complete with 360-degree stunning views of Los Angeles and a new spring menu highlighting decadent seasonal specials and staple dishes.
My friend and I went to the Rooftop for a sunset dinner. After stepping off the elevator, we were instantly transported to an outdoor garden oasis filled with lush plants and beautiful multicolored flowers. Between the backdrop and breathtaking 360-degree views, you can grab that perfect Instagramworthy shot. The Rooftop has traditional table seating, a sleek bar (ideal for those seeking a more casual experience), space heaters ensuring your stay will be warm and comfortable, and music.
Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten has elevated his already impressive cuisine with the release of his new spring menu. It features an exquisite lineup of dishes created with local purveyors and seasonality in mind, guaranteeing the freshest local ingredients. The new spring menu highlights include Spicy Butternut Squash Soup, vibrant Sweet Pea Guacamole (Guacamole mixed with sweet peas), Fresh Burrata (one of our favorites), Strawberry and Blue Cheese Salad, Handmade Fresh Fettuccine with Artichoke (a must-order), Fresh Sashimi with Spicy White Ponzu (it was so fresh it almost melted on my tongue), Kale and Roasted Squash Salad, Truffle Cheeseburger, and the decadent Lobster Burger made with Shrimp, Gruyère Cheese Green Chili Dressing, and Yuzu Pickles. Each item comes in a nice size portion, so you will be more than satisfied.
I suggest pairing your meal with one of the Rooftop’s craft cocktails like An Unexpected Guest (Roederer Estate Brut, Ancho Reyes Rojo, Satsuma, Meyer Lemon) or The Emperor’s New Drip (Citron Vodka, Grenadine, Passion Fruit, Yuzu). And dessert is a must-have. The Rhubarb Tart was so good I almost cried, and the Strawberry Sundae hit the spot.
We had an excellent, memorable sunset dinner. Between the unparalleled 360-degree views of the city, sexy atmosphere, impeccable service, and delicious food, the Rooftop by JG is a one-of-a-kind experience and hands down one of LA’s best rooftops. I can’t wait to go back and try a rooftop brunch!
