The Glenmark Hotel – the New Gem within the Jewel City

Located at the intersection of the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys lays Glendale – a city known for its beautiful breathtaking mountain views, rich culture, luxurious shopping, and premier dining experience. It is here where Marriott International built their first full-service hotel in Glendale after realizing there was a “demand for luxurious and world-class leisure, lifestyle and hospitality experiences.” I introduce you to The Glenmark Hotel, the newest member of the Tribute Portfolio family.

Tribute Portfolio has a reputation for supplying exceptional independent hotels around the world and The Glenmark Hotel is this and more. Designed by creatives for creatives, and portraying a vibrant, stylish, sophisticated yet approachable ambiance, The Glenmark Hotel is a rare gem. It is extraordinary from its wonderful location to its many features.

The hotel features: 85 guest rooms each designed with an eclectic and creative flair, a 1,000 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center with Peloton stationary bikes, 7,900 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, Intelligentsia Coffee Roasters, restaurant Olia, rooftop bar Mila and the hotel lobby bar; (temporarily closed in compliance with recent Governor mandates).

Under the direction of Executive Chef Tony Trujillo, Olia, The Glenmark’s signature restaurant, offers a modern interpretation of Mediterranean and French Provincial cuisine, prepared with the best produce California has to offer.  Outdoor dining is available, along with takeaway options during breakfast and lunch hours. $7+; Monday – Sunday, 7:30 am – 11:00 am.

Sexy rooftop bar Mila features a tapas style menu, complete with Flatbread Pizzas, Spicy Tuna Stack, Shawarma Sliders, mouthwatering Burrata, Shishito Peppers and more. The rooftop is split in two and is in effect two separate restaurants. One side is smoke free, while the other offers a hookah smoking section. As I sat sipping my wine I found myself lost in the beauty of the postcard-like view before me. It was breathtaking watching the sun set over the massive Verdugo Hills, allowing the city to sparkle like a “jewel in the sun.” $10+,$40 (hookah rental). Monday – Sunday, 5:00 pm – 12:00 am

Whether it’s the funky, exotic art, exotic hanging plants, or lively decor, The Glenmark Hotel and owner Michael Tchakmakjian “Look forward to welcoming guests to the new gem within the Jewel City. The vibrant property will delight both guests and locals with its creative design, inventive cuisine, upscale amenities and engaging programming, while providing them with an authentic Glendale experience.”

The Glenmark Hotel has implemented new safety guidelines complete with a CDC recommended frequent cleaning and disinfecting regimen, hand sanitizer stations throughout the hotel, updated training for all associates on infection prevention; required face coverings and social distancing guidelines. $195+; 1100 N. Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA 91202; 818.900.2701
