Venice Family Clinic Hosts its 37th Annual Silver Circle Gala
Ivy Kagan Bierman will be receiving the organization’s prestigious Humanitarian Award for her commitment to empower women and minorities, fight for justice and advocate for greater equity for women and minorities in the workplace at the Annual Silver Circle Gala. Kagan Bierman serves as a partner at Loeb & Loeb LLP, the Vice Chair of Civil Rights for the Anti- Defamation League, and is a member of the Legal, Legislative and Policy Committee on Sexual Harassment and Gender Parity, and the Safety Committee, for Time’s Up. Russel Tyner, AIA, NCARB, President, Principal Architect and Co-Founder, Houston/Tyner Architects, will also be honored at the gala with the Clinic’s Irma Colen Leadership Award for his volunteer work with Venice Family Clinic over the past 34 years. In addition to the cocktail reception and dinner,the event will feature live performances from Grammy-nominated artists, Carmen Bradford and Shelly Berg. The Silver Circle Gala will raise more than $1.5 million this year to help Venice Family Clinic provide health care to thousands of low-income and uninsured families and individuals. Mindfulness Mondays at Shore Hotel
On the last Monday in March and April, Shore Hotel will host complimentary sunset meditations. Hotel guests are invited to practice a self-guided meditation with the app StopBreatheThink in the tranquil garden setting complete with candle lighting, meditation poufs, calming scents and more. Mindfulness Mondays is a warm-up to the Mindfulness in May package, which will be offered starting May 1. Guests who book stays in the month of May using the Mindfulness in May promotion will be receive a free 10-day trial to the StopBreatheThink app, self-guided sunset meditations in the garden, an illustrated map of Santa Monica’s best spots to meditate and a yoga class at a local yoga studio. Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken Opens with Free Doughnuts
The opening day celebration includes a free doughnut for each guest and one “Golden Doughnut,” offered every hour of the day, redeemable for free doughnuts for an entire year. The Golden Doughnut will be filled with edible gold filing and mixed in with the rest of the free doughnuts. Golden Doughnut winners will be selected at random once every hour throughout the day.
