The BroBasket

When a James Grasty’s fiancée wanted to get him flowers in which he laughed and respectfully retorted, “I don’t want flowers, but you can send me a bucket of beer instead”, The BroBasket was born.  She searched the internet and quickly realizing she couldn’t send him a bucket of beer and knew it was a concept she had to look into. The seed had been planted and Grasty’s Entrepreneurship Class choose this concept as the business they would start in their classroom. The class worked on the various aspect of the business plan including marketing ideas, running theoretical sales numbers and financial figures, designing a logo and even some prototypes.  At the end of the class the four Vice Presidents stood in front of a panel of real life venture capitalists in hopes of getting the idea funded and turning it into an actual business!

Unfortunately they did not get funded, but Mike Mazza, Kenneth Connell, and James really believed in the idea and thought it could be turned into an actual business. So they continued to meet regularly and work on all the aspects of the business plan that needed more attention. After multiple attempts at finding investors, the original founders cobbled together enough money to get a location, licenses, some initial inventory, and a website built. Today they ship BroBasket’s all over the country. Although The BroBasket is aimed towards men, 1/3 of their gift recipients are female. So guys (and girls), you can send anyone their favorite cocktail or alcohol in a custom gift basket for a special day, just because or for any occasion!

The BroBakset offers beer gifts, wine gifts, and spirits gifts that have numerous options to choose from. You can shop by holiday, type of spirit, types of beer, such as craft, domestic, or imported, and you have options to include engravings, customize your basket, or go the route of a BroBox, which is a little less expensive. You can send tasting kits, sampler kits, and gifts that include all the fixings for your recipients favorite cocktail, and they all come with snacks like beef jerky, chocolates, popcorn, and pretzels. The possibilities are endless (and the prices are super reasonable).

I ordered the Dirty Martini gift set for myself (don’t judge) and it came with everything I needed…vodka, vermouth, pickled green tomatoes (I loved the twist on olives), and even snacks to accompany my cocktail. All I needed was to shake it up and enjoy. Some other baskets I love include the Viva Tequila that includes tequila, salt and Coronas to wash it down; The Russian Standard Moscow Mule that even comes with the copper mug; and the California Wine and Coffee gift basket. They even have a bunch of different mules and martinis to choose from. The BroBasket is a savior when it comes to gifts for the guy who is so difficult to shop for, my dad. He does love a good libation though! With a myriad of possible baskets to choose from, and prices that don’t leave you broke, The BroBasket is a great place to get a unique gift for any cocktail lover in your life.
