Taste WBK Hosts The Moveable Feast
When it comes to freshly-plucked herbs, fruits and vegetables Long Beach restaurants and their chefs rely on Farm Lot 59, the city’s non-profit urban farm. Taste WBK, owned by Erin O’Hagan and Laurie Semon, proprietors of Olives Gourmet Grocer, will host a Moveable Feast and “Farm Raiser,” where all proceeds will benefit Farm Lot 59. The Moveable Feast will begin at The Wine Country in Signal Hill where you will meet and indulge in bubbles and appetizers before boarding the air-conditioned shuttle for nearby Farm Lot 59. Farmer Sasha will greet you and take you foraging through the fields before the group settles down to a field-to-fork experience with cider, soup and salad. From there, the shuttle will transport you to Taste WBK where Chef Brad Neumann will present a special menu using ingredients grown at Farm Lot 59. Referred to as the “night of 100 dinner parties,” the event spurred by L.A. The Westside Food Bank’s Annual 5K Hunger Walk
The 26th Annual 5K Hunger Walk begins at Ocean View Park and ends at the Beach Bash After Party at Perry’s Beach Cafe. The Beach Bash, sponsored by Banc of California, invites you and Westside Food Bank supporters to Perry’s for an old-fashioned BBQ with DJ, drinks and more. Every $1 raised provides 4 meals for those in need on the Westside. Vegan Taco Competition
A taco throw down of vegan proportions will take place at Cafe Gratitude’s Larchmont location. Nine Los Angeles chefs will enter the taste-off, but only two will exit victorious.
