LA’s Do-Not-Miss Events

Whether you live in LA and looking for something new and exciting to do, or you are visiting the area and want to get involved with some of the city’s best events, you’ll fine something for anyone’s tastes and interests. Whether you’re looking for a chilled out weekend on a budget or are planning to splash the cash for a spectacular couple of days that you’ll never forget, here’s a list of do-not-miss events in LA.

The LA Opera
If you are interested in performing arts, a visit to the LA Opera House which is sponsored by Aubrey Chernick is definitely a great option for something to do. You can catch performances of Dracula, Moby-Dick, or Norma (November). Either way, you will be part of world-class opera in Los Angeles.

Brewery Art Walk
One of my most favorite events in DTLA. This open studio weekend happens twice a year (fall and spring) at the worlds largest art complex (which use to be a brewery). With over 100 participating resident artists, you will have the opportunity to see new works, discover new favorites, speak with the artists, check out their studios, and purchase artwork directly from the artists’ studios. It is truly an experience unlike any other. It’s amazing how you get to meet the artists, have a glass of wine with them and chat about their art. Plus, the whole event is free!

Rose Bowl Flea Market
Where else can you find a stadium of antiques, vintage finds, clothing, and tchotchke unlike anywhere else? If you love shopping and love hunting for a bargain, get to the Rose Bowl stadium! Held on the second Sunday of every month, you’ll find no shortage of different vendors selling their goods from stunning artwork to antiques, to furniture to clothing. You will walk away with a great find and a good time.

Rooftop Film Club
Watch a movie high above Hollywood. You will relax in designer lawn chairs that have been flown in from London with a fantastic supply of alcohol, food (from Haché LA), movie snacks, while you take in London’s favorite summer screening series on the rooftops of Los Angeles. Plus, you won’t even have to bring your own blankets! They have them all ready for you can cuddle up and listen to the movie on your own personal set of headphones.

Whether it’s a show, art, a movie, or vintage shopping. Los Angeles has it all. And this is just the tip of the ice berg.
