Taste on Melrose Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Throughout the month, the West Hollywood neighborhood restaurant will feature two house-made raspberry macaroons from Pastry Chef Katie Shyne for $6 with a portion of the proceeds supporting the non-profit organization Pink Lotus Foundation. Get Hooked On Executive Chef Marc Johnson’s New Contemporary Seafood Menu At Tipple & Brine
New Executive Chef Marc Johnson and Tipple & Brine present a brand new seasonal menu. Oyster lovers (myself included), can enjoy a walk-up oyster bar, Oysters On The Half Shell, and a trio of Oyster Shooters. Starters include Brussels Sprouts roasted with bacon, brown sugar and Sambal; Shishito Peppers sautéed with baby corn, grapes, goat cheese, pistachios and mint; and Roasted Asparagus topped with a poached egg, lemon confit and salsa verde. Salads including the Melon & Beet Salad topped with burrata, watercress, pickled mustard seeds and black garlic; the Chicory Salad has radishes, tomatoes, fennel and buttermilk dressing. You can also go for shared plates like the Mushroom Toast topped with goat cheese, caramelized onions and a drizzle of aged balsamic vinegar or the Sea Urchin Toast with avocado mousse, sliced radishes and scallions. Raw dishes include Albacore served with onion soubise, Serrano chilies, hazelnuts, soy gastrique and cilantro flowers; Beet Cured Hamachi marinated in citrus, beet juice and vodka; and Charred Octopus served with ripe nectarines, cherry tomatoes and almond frisée drizzled with saba. Mains include Swordfish with summer squash, yellow corn, cherry tomatoes and Poblano peppers, drizzled with a red wine sauce; a pan roasted Sea Bass with snap peas, green beans, pear tomatoes; Braised Lamb Belly served with cous cous, kuri squash, golden raisins, pine nuts, sage and jus; and a Flat Iron Steak with bone marrow, asparagus, crispy onions, chervil and a uni Hollandaise. Dessert includes a sponge Carrot Cake topped with cream cheese frosting, butterscotch and pecans, which was named Best Slice Of Carrot Cake 2015 by Los Angeles Magazine. Tom Bergin’s Public House‘s “Get Schooled” Craft Beer Dinner Series
Since owner Derek Schreck and managing partner Jordan Delp purchased the pub in mid-2013, they’ve established a formidable rotating craft beer program, along with an elevated, gastropub menu. The Darkroom Launches New Exhibit from KROQ’s Cody Black
The fourth series of The Darkroom’s photographic musical retrospectives presents KROQ’s resident historian, Cody Black, showcasing the Los Angeles radio station’s key performances from this era’s top rock musicians. Co-curated by Rex Weiner and The Darkroom’s General Manager Jim Kalin, the two month exhibition, “Cody Black- Exposed ROQ”, captures intimate and exclusive behind-the-scene moments from inside the KROQ studios and on stage. Artists featured include The Killers, Foo Fighters, Blink-182, and more. Adding to the photography experience and as a nod to the changing musical landscapes from the 90s to today, The Darkroom’s Bar Manager Spenser Genesy is set to present whiskey-based Rodney on the Rocks and tequila-based Jane Says as “transformative” cocktails, made with specialty infused ice cubes and liqueurs that evolve with each sip.
