Located inside the Viceroy in Santa Monica, Cast restaurant is a hidden gem that serves up intimate ambiance, perfect service, and food that is beautiful, inventive, and a must-eat. Executive Chef Tony DiSalvo’s talent is apparent in his globally-influenced menu sourced from local markets and farms.
We headed to Cast during Santa Monica’s Eat Well Week to try their dishes specifically for that week (along with restaurant favorites). We sat al fresco on the patio that is cozy and glowing with light from the numerous candles on our table. For Eat Well, we had the Hamachi, Citrus, Soy, Shiso and Avocado, Crispy Rice along with the Tuscan Kale Salad with apples, pecans, bacon, and Cheddar. Other dishes we tried were the Potato gnocchi, asparagus, morels; My favorite, the Crispy Brussels sprouts with shiitake, mushrooms, Chinese sausage, green apple; Japanese scallop, plum, shiso, fresh wasabi; and Short rib. Everything was savory, beautifully plated, and perfect for sharing.
Cast is a great place to get away from Los Angeles’ busy days and crazy nights. It’s a quiet spot with amazing food for you to enjoy who you are with.
