This no nonsense eatery has picnic tables inside, neon signs, and a straight forward menu that will not disappoint meat lovers. The daily menu includes meats that you can get in combos or a la carte. Order up Brisket Moist (a must), Brisket Lean, Pastrami, and Beef Ribs (One beef rib is 1/2 lb or more, Huge). Other meats include chicken, turkey, pork ribs, and our other favorite, Pulled Pork. I loved how the pulled pork wasn’t over powered by a sauce and the pork’s smokiness really showed through. If you prefer more sauce, it’s available on the table and customize it how ever you would like. They also have sausages like the Beef Link, Jalapeño Link, and Chicken Garlic.
If you prefer your meat between two slices of bread, order up one of their sandwiches which include Pulled Pork with Slaw; the BBQ Dip with Brisket, Red Onion, Jalapeno, Au Jus; the Chili Size made with Brisket, Chili, Sour Cream, Green Onion, Served Open Faced; the Texas Ruben made with Pastrami, Sauerkraut, Swiss, BBQ Ranch; and our favorite, the BBQ Beast made with Brisket, Pulled Pork, Sausage, Cole Slaw, Hot Vinegar. It seriously has all the meats you love in one sandwich.
Sides include Texas Baked Potatoes that you can top with meat, salads, Corn On The Cob, Pickles, Longhorn Mac, Red Chili (no beans, my favorite), Red Cabbage, Pit Beans, German Potato Salad, Creamed Corn, Texas Caviar (Black Eyed Peas, Peppers, Vinegar, Lime Juice), Cabbage & Apple Slaw (a great balance with the meat), and Creamy Potato Salad.
