Husband and wife team Jaime Turrey and Brooke Fruchtman have opened up Ostrich Farm (1525 W. Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA; 213.537.0657) in Echo Park. The minimal, sleek restaurant has a dark aqua tufted leather booth wrapping the restaurant, wooden tables with black bistro chairs, and a small marble bar.
The menu, which is filled with wood-grilled and roasted items, includes dishes like flatbread with leeks, stilton and truffle oil; mussels and clams with grilled bread; Brussels sprouts, pancetta, egg; dungeness crab, radish, grapefruit salad; grilled salmon, beurre blanc, broccolini; New York strip, caramelized onion, herb fries; potpie, braised beef, carrot, parsnip, fennel, stilton; and half roast chicken, mustard green mashed potatoes.
Open Sunday, Tuesday & Wednesday, 5:30-10:30 pm, and until 11 pm, Thursday-Saturday.
