Brick Smokehouse (826 Hampton Ave., Venice, CA; 310.581.1639) is joining the ranks of newbie BBQ spots in Los Angeles. Chef Glen Rogers is behind the smoking, while Chris Sturge, who is both investor and craft beer steward. You will find pasture-raised, sustainably sourced meats, as well as seasonal sides. Their menu includes brisket, tri-tip, baby back ribs, pork belly and turkey, all by the half pound. Sides include grits, mac & cheese, brussel sprouts, heirloom tomatoes, and sauteed mustard greens. There are five beers on tap, including Sierra Nevada Torpedo Double IPA and Stone IPA, at $6/pint and two wines.
