Venice has gotten a new place to grab Banh Mì, and it’s called just that. Banh Mì Venice (307 Lincoln Blvd., Venice, CA 90291; 310.429.1959) is on the corner of Rose and Lincoln, and is serving up Vietnamese banh mí sandwiches with a twist. With locally sourced ingredients and an interior designed by Tatiana Barhar of Verdego, all sandwiches are served with pickled daikon, carrots, cucumbers, fresh cilantro and jalapeño. In addition to fresh ingredients, their baguettes are baked fresh daily and the sandwich has a house-made chili mayo or a country pâté spread.
Their banh mì include The Oink Mì made with caramelized pork belly, shallots and garlic with the country pâté spread; The Moo Mì, is made with braised short rib, chili paste, lemongrass, ginger and the house-made chili mayo; The Wake Mì made with two fried eggs, house-made chili mayo, veggies, and herbs; The Cluck Mì made with braised turmeric chicken, lemongrass, ginger, galangal, chilies, and house-made chili mayo; The Go Fish Mì with ling cod that has been braised with turmeric and dill, yogurt, onions, garlic, lemon juice and bean sprouts; and The Veg Mì made with curry tofu, lemon grass, kaffir lime, and bay leaves.
