Chef Phillip Frankland Lee of Scratch|Bar is opening his second restaurant in Los Angeles, The Gadarene Swine, (11266 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, CA 91604; resys here) tomorrow! The restaurant has a full beer & wine menu, with standouts including the homemade mead. Chef Lee’s menu has no meat and is a modern approach to vegan cuisine during dinner service along with a Chef’s Counter.
The menu includes: Sourdough w/ Crushed Tomato Oil; Kale Chips; Maitake Chips; Stuffed Olives; Roasted Garlic and Fresh Thyme Popcorn; Crisp Yucca; Blackened Cauliflower; Corn on the Cob; Shaved Vegetable Salad; Roasted Mushrooms with Burnt Sweet Potato; and Crispy Lollipop Kale.
The tasting menu ($85) has each dish incorporate at least 60% of the base vegetable, creating a deconstructed then reconstructed gastronomic creation
