Southerns fear not! You can now get the kind of food you were so use to back home, right here in Los Angeles. Little Jewel (207 Ord St., Los Angeles, CA) is serving up a menu that will make you feel like you’re back in the Big easy.
They have Parish Fair Sandwiches (AKA Small Buns) layered with Bayou Broiler with Hickory Sauce and Grated Cheddar, Grilled Christmas Ham, and Cochon de Lait with Creole Slaw and Pickles. Po’ Boys come with Fried Oysters, Fried Shrimp (or a mix of the two), Lousiana Fried Catfish, Irish Channel Roast Beef, French Fry with Poutine and Cheddar, or get the Big M’ Surf and Turf with Roast Beef, Fried Oysters, Fried Shrimp and House Remoulade.
The Chef also smokes all the sausage in house and has Andouille, Hot Links, Chaurice Patties, House Tasso, and House Boudin Links (or Balls). There are plenty of sides, but if you haven’t tried Debris Gravy, now is the time. Also, leave room for dessert, they have New Orleans Style Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce and Deep South Banana Pudding with Chantilly Creme and Nilla Wafers.
