Field Trip (1555 Vine St., #119, Los Angeles, CA 90028) is a new spot in Hollywood with Minh Phan (Gaji, Beachwood Cafe) and Sarah Lange (Hart & the Hunter, Ladies Gunboat Society) are in the kitchen to create a Cali menu with Asian inflections.
You can visit them in the morning for pastries and coffee or get over there on July 27 from 8 am-3 pm when they are serving everything. Soon, you can order up brunch, dinner and high tea with plates including corn scones, sausage-stuffed pretzel, flourless double-chocolate and peanut butter cookies.
For brunch, specifically, you can get farmers nosh (verve brewed coffee + mini sweet/savory scone); field breakfast (house cured bacon, rillettes, porridge + coddled egg, kenter canyon
toast, pastries, market pickles and accouterments); crispy rice + eggs meurette (two eggs soft poached in red wine with ginger, mushrooms, chinese sausage. with crispy heirloom rice, pickled mustard greens); short rib sandwich; and black sesame beignets.
