Brunch at Red O

If you don’t have the funds to get to the beaches Mexico, head to the Sunday brunch at Red O. It’s the next best thing. Between the light breeze, soft tropical music, relaxed vibe, white airy curtains and pillows to lounge in, you will feel like you took a mini vacay. Ok, you’re still on Melrose, but close your eyes and relax for a second. Then open them and focus on the menu because you will need to concentrate to figure out which delicious dish to order.

Start with a roasted bloody mary. They are bottomless and as big as your head. A meal in itself, some might say. From there, order the classic guacamole, the grilled lobster & jícama “tacos” (Maine lobster, baby tomatoes, serrano chile, salt-cured nopales, Castelvetrano olives, grilled knob onions, micro greens) and the Dungeness crab cake. As for egg dishes, the Huevos A La Mexicana was like a Mexican scramble, which was filling and not overly heavy. We tried a few desserts, but perfect for hot summer days, are their sorbets. The perfect ending to your tropical vacation.
