It takes a lot to surprise me when it comes to sushi these days. This doesn’t mean I don’t love it. I just find that most places I go to have the standard fare and nothing new. Then I went to Kabuki.
They have new cocktails from their own Master Sake Sommelier Yuji Matsumoto and have expanded their menus with the addition of the gluten-free and vegetarian sections. Being gluten-free myself, sushi can be a challenge if I want to explore a menu (and I usually bring my own soy sauce). I loved that Kabuki catered to this need and I had free range over the menu.
Some items that we ordered included the Grilled Yellowtail Collar, Tuna & Salmon Sashimi, Beef Shabu Shabu Salad and my most favorite item, the King Crab with cucumber wrap. The wrap is a must order. It is refreshing, filling, topped off with three different kinds of roe and gluten-free. Overall, every item was delicious. Finish off your meal with a Lychee Lime Saketini!
