Many of you may know Porkbelly’s (1146 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice, CA 90291; 310. 450.1533) in Venice. Well, forget the name “Porkbelly’s” but remember the delicious sweet and savory BBQ they dish up. As of now, they are officially “Chop Daddy’s” and they are serving up the same BBQ, along with some new dishes you need to try. Their top-rated sandwiches like The Belly Up (Smoked BBQ Pork Belly topped with homemade coleslaw on a brioche roll); The PBLT (Thick sliced pork belly, lettuce, tomato and spicy aioli on toasted sourdough); and The Chop Daddy (Brisket smoked for over 12 hours topped with homemade BBQ sauce and Mac & Cheese on a brioche roll), are still on the menu, but they are also serving up ribs, platters and my new favorite, their salad. Salad? Yep, The PB Graze allows you to chose one of their meats and have that on a bed of olive oil infused kale, smoked spanish onions, thin sliced radishes, Parmesan flakes and home made brioche croutons.
Don’t forget the fried pickles and sweet potato tots on the side. You’ll be one happy daddy.
