Beelman’s Pub, (600 S Spring St., Downtown; 213.622.1022) is officially open and joining the ranks of burger and beer spots in Los Angeles. Situated in Downtown, this masculine pub is from the guys behind Library Bar (ACME Hospitality Group) and is named after Claude Beelman, the architect who designed buildings like the Eastern Columbia building on Broadway in Downtown. This place elevates your typical pub scene with elegant wood-panel walls, green leather tufted chairs, black & white photos of guys with beards, and a patio with ivy and brick in the front.
You can sit back and relax with beers like Czech pilsners and Italian lagers and cocktails like Airplane Mode, available on draft, made with chamomile-infused cognac; Rocket Queen, made with lillet blanc, dark berry liqueur, lemon, absinthe and bubbly; Try for the Kingdom with Red Wine, Spanish Brandy, Fresh Lemon Juice, Cinnamon, Coca-Cola; Accidental Guru made with Irish Whisky, Crème de Pêche, Ginger, Fresh Lime Juice, Blanche de Bruxelles and the Hot Pants, available on draft and is made with Vodka, Aperol, Limoncello, Strawberry-Pineapple Soda.
