Spring Lingerie Trends

If you’re up-to-date on this season’s spring clothing fashion, you won’t have to look far for lingerie inspiration. Many patterns, fabrics, and styles observed in the latest fashion shows are quickly making their way from the runway to the bedroom.

One look that is going to be very popular for clothing and lingerie during this year’s spring and summer months is the exposed midriff. The high-waisted, brief-style underwear used with an exposed midriff design is best when paired with a demi bra. As Adam and Eve explains on their description of the Hookin’ Up set, “The demi cup reveals more of your upper breasts, while the bra’s underwire lifts and shapes you.” This revitalized retro look is particularly eye-catching when combined with the use of silk and lace fabrics.

White and off-white colors have been trending, as highlighted several times throughout the Mercedes Benz Fashion week 2014. Previously, white has been reserved for bridal lingerie, and while it is still a classic look for that special night, designers’ recent incorporation of the color onto different fabrics has paved the way of a new white lingerie style. Leather in particular has helped differentiate the image of white for lingerie, removing it from the “pure” connotations that are usually associated with lace and other bridal themes by giving it a sexy, promiscuous angle.

If you’re getting married soon and are in the market for bridal lingerie, white lace is the perfect choice for a classic style. For the “formal” look of bridal lingerie, stick to bra sets, bustiers, and corsets, as teddies and babydolls are slightly more casual. For something with a little more modern, but still traditional, light pink and peach hues are popular lace options. A light silver with green undertones can also be an elegant, spring wedding option, especially when paired with silk bows or flowered accents.

Designers have also started the yearly tradition of experimenting with the latest trends of floral patterns. Each spring, they revisit the pattern that was once reserved for housewives’ dresses and furniture fabrics, and completely revamp it with their own modern twists. This season’s floral patterns have been plastered on everything from purses to pants, but you won’t hear any complaining from those looking for a flirty, yet fierce lingerie pattern. Stick to deep blues, purples, reds, and blacks to give your girly lingerie set a sexy edge.

The styles may change with each new season, but lingerie is hot year-round. Whether you’re wearing it for your partner, or to boost your confidence, you’re sure to get results when wearing some of these sexy trends.
