Kushikatsu Tanaka, (2004 Sawtelle Blvd., Los Angeles, 90025) specializes in Osaka-style kushikatsu. With a clean, minimalistic decor and a large menu of traditional fried katsu sticks, you can chose from lotus root, garlic, taro, banana and ham, or fish sausages, mountain potatoes, beef, and prawns. Remember to get the amount of traditional sauce you want in one dip. (double dipping is a no no). They also have some izakaya-style bites like vinegared saba mackerel or karaage chicken, along with noodles and burgers.
