Dough Pizzeria & Bar, (8947 W Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood; 310.275.7770) is a new upscale lunch and dinner spot by Alex Ganjian and designed by Gabbay Architects and Greg Bleier’s Studio Unltd. The dark room has red chairs and illustrations by Simpsons creator Matt Groening.
They are serving up the tried and true pies like margherita, salami, and pepperoni along with some more unique versions like the Korean BBQ: a braised short rib and pepper-covered pizza, topped with kimchi, pickled jalapeños, and mixed herbs. Or the squash blossom, butternut squash, and black kale pizza that is also available on gluten-free dough and the Trout with fresh trout, lemon capers, shallot, garlic, roasted tomato vin, olive oil, fine herbs
They also have starters like Arancini (lightly breaded risotto) and stuffed squash blossoms (stuffed with pork belly).
Now, carb lovers lean in, because you can add one of their gourmet pastas or sandwiches to your meal. Order up fettucine with slow braised pork, sautéed spinach, garlic, melted tomatoes, parsley; spaghetti with beef bolognese red sauce, basil, parmesan, soft boiled egg (but can be gluten free); or sandwiches like chumichurri chicken or salami. Entrees include pan roasted halibut, King salmon, and briased short rib. Plus, dessert consists of dough stuffed with carrot cake and Nutella, deep fried, and topped with caramel and powdered sugar. Save room.
