Bourbon Steak, (237 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale; 818.839.4130) the renowned restaurant from award-winning chef, Michael Mina is officially opening in Los Angeles on March 26th. Created by award-winning design firm, AvroKO, the restaurant mixes elegance and old-world charm with dark leathers, natural rosewood, marble tabletops, brushed brass, antique mirrors, handblown pendant lighting fixtures and vintage décor. A u-shaped bar with lounge area, has nightly live music and connects the dining room to a patisserie offering pastries, coffee and tea service from LAMILL, with wall of windows looking out onto the terrace.
The American menu focuses on seasonal ingredients with all natural, organic, grass fed and hormone free cuts of Black Angus, as well as Japanese and American Wagyu beef, are wood-grilled over live fire. There are also whimsical items like lobster corn dogs, truffle donuts, eggplant & avocado dip, duck spring rolls and a house-made rootbeer float. Table side preparations include tartare and lobster pot pie, and dining carts offering fresh seafood, oysters, Maine lobster, Dungeness crab and caviar or a selection of sweet treats, rolling about the room.
Bourbon Steak’s award-winning burger program features the Bacon Cheese Burger, Michael’s Mother’s Falafel Burger, and Turkey Burger, and sandwiches like the House-Cured Pastrami. For lunch, you can create their own entrée by first selecting from a variety of skewers, steaks or seafood, and then choosing a seasonal vegetable dish to accompany the protein. The vegetables can be ordered as an entrée portion as well.
