The Bun Shop (151 N. Western Ave., Los Angeles, 90004), a new restaurant focused on bao buns in K-Town by Brian Yeun and chef/partner James Seok. The Bun Shop is the post and beam of The Bun Truck and they are serving up buns filled with beef, spicy pig, pork bbq, katsu (crispy chicken), spam, temp veg and tomanko (panko fried tomato, cucumber, citrus slaw, and ranch) all under $10. There’s also sides like fries, sweet potato fries, citrus edamame, ba’corn cheese (bacon, corn, mozzarella cheese), sticky wings, fried wontons, hummus and dosirak (Korean fried rice with kimchi, mushrooms, and nori). Desserts include a custard bun (bed of popcorn with salted caramel) and deep fried Oreos with green tea ice cream.
