Mauro’s Café is a hidden gem, situated inside Fred Segal (8112 Melrose Ave.). They are serving up Italian fare and now, dinner on Thursday nights. Plus, they have live music from 6-10 pm to go along with your Thursday night meal!
Some of my favorites from the dinner menu include the Quinoa Salad, Almond Salad, Grilled Caledonian Prawns, and basically all of their pasta dishes. Other items for breakfast, lunch or brunch include the Egg Bacon Sandwich, French Crepes, Caprese sandwich, Rigatoni Bolognese, Seafood Linguini, Grilled Skirt Steak and Spaghetti Pomodoro. As for desserts, I can’t even choose a favorite because they were all so delicious. We tried the Lemon Meringue, Chocolate Mousse, Macarons, and cupcakes. All were fresh, with the right amount of sweetness.
Paired your meal with the perfect wine. At Mauro’s Café the owner’s take their time selecting the finest spirits from France, Italy, Germany, Spain and California. Overall, you can feel and see the love that has gone into this little cafe. The food is outstanding and the service is friendly and welcoming.
Open Monday-Friday, 9 am-6 pm; Thursday 9 am – 10 pm; and Sunday from 9 am-5 pm, you can get brunch all day.
