Botany and Escuela Taqueria

This spring, One Colorado (41 Hugus Alley, Pasadena, CA 91103) will welcome Botany and Escuela Taqueria, a boutique floral shop. Botany’s Stephanie Schur brings together fashion and florals in her one-of-a-kind floral arrangements.

Schur opened her first Botany store at the Brentwood Country Mart in 2009. Her floral arrangements are as unique as are the store’s interior and atmosphere. The shop is inspired by the more intimate feel of smaller European flower shops. Schur engages a more personalized vibe by providing a full sensory experience in her shop, including music and scents.

La-Escuela-Taqueria

Celebrated Los Angeles restaurateur Steven Arroyo (Cobras and Matadors, Church and State, 750ml and Potato Chips) will open a second location for his Los Angeles hotspot, Escuela Taqueria at One Colorado. Steven Arroyo founded his first Escuela Taqueria in West Hollywood in 2011, and in 2012 expanded into the former Cobras and Matador space on Beverly near the Grove.

With a creative spin on Mexican traditions, Escuela’s menu includes tacos with cuts of responsibly-raised pork, crispy branzino, shrimp, and lobster (with veggie-friendly options). In addition to working with local markets and responsible meat purveyors, Escuela’s food is 100% natural and they use no artificial ingredients (and their menu is gluten-free). Escuela makes their own agua frescas with fresh fruits, vegetable and herbs, or you can grab Mexican Coca Cola. Finish off your meal with their homemade churros.
