Superba Food and Bread

Paul Hibler, owner and creator of Pitfire Artisan PizzaSuperba Snack Bar, and East Borough, announces Jason Travi as executive chef and Jason Neroni as consultant for American Gonzo Food Corporation’s latest project, Superba Food and Bread (1906 Lincoln Blvd., Venice). Opening in February on Lincoln Boulevard in Venice, decor comes by way of architecture duo, Design Bitches. The eatery will offer reasonably priced, handcrafted fare in a neighborhood spot. In addition to the in-restaurant offerings, they will make afternoon bread deliveries via bicycle to Venice locals. Rye, sourdough, and Pullman bread are baked daily in a large bread oven imported from Italy.

Superba Food and Bread will be a place to sit on the patio in the morning, enjoying coffee, pain au chocolates, and scones freshly baked each day. On the weekends, brunch will offer California twists on classic dishes, including Kimchee and Brown Ricewith a fried egg on top, and Gingerbread Pancakes with spiced pears, and whipped cream. For lunch, enjoy unique interpretations of sandwiches including Pastrami and Swiss Cheese, and salads that incorporate farmers’ market vegetables and whole grains. Dinner menu items include Pieroges with smoked potato and Jarlsberg with butter and chives; Pot Pie with smoked turkey, pearl onions, thumbelina carrots and a scallion/cheddar crust; and Beef Rib Pot Roast with rutabaga, stout, sour cream, and caraway. Dessert options are comprised of Rhubarb Pie with hyssop cream, and Root Beer Floats with malted ice cream or butterscotch custard and sea salt.
