The Petersen Automotive Museum’s free movie series is back. Of course, the films feature cars that’s why the screening this week is “Bullitt.” It’s a 1968 film starring Steve McQueen as a police detective investigating a mob hit on a man under his protection and it features one of the most famous car chase scenes in film history. It’s an 11-minute scene that goes through the streets of San Francisco and helped earn the film an Oscar for best editing. Free popcorn is included in the screening, and Johnny Rockets will sell food and drinks, including milkshakes for just $1.
