Barkowski (2819 Pico Blvd. Santa Monica, CA 90405) is a new spot opening Friday that honors legendary author (and one who enjoyed himself a cocktail) Charles Bukowski. Bukowski was a German-born American poet, novelist and short story writer. His writing was influenced by the economy and culture of Los Angeles. Bukowski wrote thousands of poems, hundreds of short stories and six novels, eventually publishing over sixty books.
Richard Miller and John Moritz have wanted to open a bar together for 15 years and it’s finally happening with this new Santa Monica, classy, 60s dive bar. As for beers, you will find selections from Coors Light to Allagash White to Bison Organic Gingerbread Ale. As for food, order up White Castle burgers $5.
