V’s Restaurant + Bar (22821 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu; 310.456.3828) is newly opened for lunch, dinner, and brunch they are serving up seafood, flatbreads and meatballs on the PCH. Decorated with sand-colored booths, and plank walls, this casual spot reads beach. But, the restaurant, although steps away from the beach, doesn’t have any beach views. This means you can really focus on the food.
Order up snacks like warm goat cheese or flatbreads with Brussels sprouts and walnut crema. Starters include house smoked trout salad with avocado and meyer lemon dill; beef and veal meatballs; and dukkah-crusted diver scallops with asparagus and lemongrass-ginger beurre blanc. There are pizzas topped with Italian sausage, prosciutto or spinach and ricotta. Entrees include house-made tagliatelle (wild boar ragout, arugula, rosemary); wild salmon; wild sea bass; pan roasted organic chicken with preserved lemon mash, pancetta, brussels sprouts, and tarragon; grilled colorado lamb chops with sweet potato wedges, lebeneh, chard and chickpea saute; and grilled filet mignon with 3-cheese mac + cheese and wild mushroom demi glace.
Drinks come from Yassen Tonev and include signatures like future fix (rye, freshly- pressed lemon juice, agave nectar, and serano peppers); Malibu watermelon punch (vodka, simple syroup, freshly-pressed lime juice, fresh watermelon juice, cilantro, and chili powder); light rum fizz (light rum, freshly-pressed lemon juice, superfine sugar, raw egg white, and bitters); and mexican elder flower blossom (reposado tequila, st. germaine, freshly- pressed grapefruit juice, grapefruit bitters).
