State Social House (8782 W Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, 90069) joins The Sunset Strip and is from Robert Silverberg’s (Isla Cantina). This spot lives where Red Rock and Isla Cantina use to be and is now a large gastropub with food by Vernon Cardenas (IDG, Pink Taco).
Chow down on a small plate American pub menu on the first level and make your way upstairs, where you’ll find a piano bar. Food includes snacks like Kobe meatballs with smoked mozzarella, demi sauce & baby arugula; steamed black mussles with garlic butter, smoked bacon, fingerling potatoes, white wine & cream; Mixed sausage plate; braised Niman Ranch pork bellywith sweet ginger soy, daikon & boiled egg; and duck fat fries.
Salads include the Brussel sprout salad with walnuts, roquefort crumbs & balsamic dressing; tuna carpaccio sashimi with onions, sprouts, radish & sesame soy vinaigrette; Bacon wrapped scallop salad with baby frisee, soft poached egg, roasted fingerling potatoes & champagne vinaigrette; plus the usual salad findings.
Sandwiches include the whiskey burger with Jameson onion jam, arugula, gruyere & special sauce; pork belly bbq burger with sweet pepper ketchup, caramelized onion & cheddar; Maine lobster roll with creamy honey citrus dressing, while pizzas/flatbreads include Prosciutto flatbread with sliced hard boiled egg, baby arugula, tomatoes, gruyere & mayonnaise; shrimp flatbread with wild mushrooms, mozzarella, provolone & pesto; Niman Ranch pork sausage pizza with jalapeno, baby arugula, tomato sauce, goat cheese & mozzarella; and for you carb lovers, the potato gratin pizza with smoked bacon, caramelized onions & provolone Mains include spaghetti pepperoncino with beef hot links, broccolini & mixed wild mushrooms; Asian BBQ skirt steak; and fish and steak options.
They also have four bars with 20 beers on tap, wine, beer cocktails and other specialty drinks. Dinner service begins August 28 and will be open daily from 11:30 am-2 am begin September 2.
