Copa Vida (70 S Raymond Ave., Pasadena, 91105), is the new artisan coffee shop in Old Town Pasadena built out by owner Steve Chang, managers Frank La and Sam Hong.
The large area includes two rooms and a kitchen. They are serving a variety of coffee roasters that will use one of the most advanced new espresso machines available on the market. They also are using a Steampunk brewer that Demitasse uses in Santa Monica, but here it’ll be used for tea. Tea has just about the same level of care as coffee at Copa Vida and Baristas will make specialty drinks for people in need of a deeper, richer experience with coffee.
As for munchies, expect sandwiches and small bites like stromboli, both meat and veggie, croque madame, roasted veggie sandwiches, and salads like farro and kale by Erik Lee (Crustacean, Ray’s & Stark Bar).
