Shhhh it’s a “secret”….Orange County’s Pitfire Pizza opens a a new cocktail bar/speakeasy called Pie Society (353 E 17th St., Costa Mesa, 92627). There will be craft cocktails, premium spirits, and a menu by Superba Snack Bar chef Jason Neroni. Once you go through the community kitchen, hit the bar, helmed by Steve Garcia (Mesa, Broadway by Amar Santana) who will be creating artisanal cocktails and housemade cordials that are classic recipes as well as modern takes that use fresh, seasonal produce. House specialty drinks include the Piesobar House Martini, with Ford’s gin, Wodka Vodka, cocchi Americano, Dolin blanc, bergamot, and lemon peel and the Boson Sour, made with bourbon, rye, lemon, syrup, egg white, bitters, and orange zest. The food includes items like Superba Fried Chicken; a Cheeseburger Hot Pocket; Crispy Dim Sum Shrimp with black sesasme sweet mayo; pizzas like rapini olive pizza and the brussel sprouts & bacon pizza; chicken meatballs, and kale salad with seared ahi salad, grapefruit and avocado.
