La Monarca Bakery to Pasadena

South Pasadena’s is welcoming their newest sweet spot, a fourth location of La Monarca Bakery (1001 Mission St., South Pasadena, 91030; 626.403.6860). The Mexican-American bakery, pastry shop and cafe is expanding like crazy and South Pasadena is its newest spot. La Monarca has a wide selection of flaky pastries and sweet breads, including traditional Mexican bolillos, pan dulce (perfect for dipping in their Mexican hot chocolate or coffee), and their very popular Rosca de Reyes, or King’s Cake. On the savory side, the newest La Monarca offers a selection of Mexican Molletes, warm sandwiches with beans or mole and cheese. The chorizo quiche is also popular for breakfast or lunch. Open daily from 6 am-8 pm.
