The New El Cid

Meet to new El Cid, (4212 Sunset Blvd., Silverlake; 323.668.0318) a 50-year-old, newly redesigned, 16th century Spanish-style Silverlake spot, opening today and serving Sunday brunch with Bloody Marys that have bacon and Flamenco dancers.

If you’ve been before, you’ll see the original murals and red velvet curtains, but the sleek furniture and funky courtyard patio has been replaced by a bar. Start your brunch with mimosas, margaritas, micheladas, and Meal Marys, which has vodka, tomato juice, bacon strips, eggs, potatoes, and even steak. Then coat your stomach with ceviche or maybe the jamón serrano sandwich from a former AMMO chef.

Now your ready for the show. Flamenco dancing full of swirling, ruffly skirts and sultry music will fill the room. Shows take place Friday evening, Saturday evening, Sunday brunch and Sunday evening. (During Sunday brunch, you also have the option of dining on the patio, no show required).

$25 ticket includes a $10 credit towards food/drinks.
