Slater’s 50/50 (61 N Raymond Ave; Pasadena; 626.765.9700, website) is opening up Friday with 100 craft beers on tap and a burger that’s half beef, half bacon. This sports bar, diner mini-chain has finally hit Los Angeles. Pasadena, to be more exact.
Now, back to the burgers. If their half beef, half bacon burger isn’t enough, order the B’B’B’Bacon Burger because it comes with thick cut bacon and bacon “island” dressing. Plus, American cheese and a sunny-side up egg all served on a bacon pretzel bun. Not your thing? The chili-cheeseburger is topped with Fritos or burgers topped with peanut butter and jelly. And on Saturdays during football season, there are donut burgers (they’re off-menu). They’ve also got four types of mac ‘n cheese (including one with Buffalo chicken bites) and a fried chicken & pancakes combo that is covered in gravy and maple syrup.
