Il Piccolo Ritrovo, (15415 Sunset Blvd., Pacific Palisades, 90272; 310.402.2552) the Italian trattoria which replaced J’s Trattoria on Sunset Boulevard in the Pacific Palisades, has officially opened with its $25k wood-burning oven that fires at 1000°F and cooks a pizza pie in 90 seconds flat. The lengthy menu has both Neapolitan and NY-style pizzas, standard appetizers, pastas and dishes from fried calamari to veal in a white wine lemon sauce. Right now they have wine by the bottle and glass, beer selections still to come. For now, BYO for $15. Lunch runs from 11:30 am-3 pm and dinner from 4 pm-10 pm. So snag a spot inside or on the dog-friendly outdoor patio.
