Bel Air Bar and Grill

The redone Bel Air Bar and Grill (662 N Sepulveda Blvd., West LA; 310.440.5544) is reopening this Friday (after a two year renovation) as an upscale classic near the Getty Center. The modern, sun-lit veranda is decorated with work silver, white tiles and art from the Cal Arts Academy (Walt Disney’s niece owns the place), and a dark study with a fireplace.

Expect a contemporary/classic American menu with items like 10oz filet mignon dipped in Port wine with a red potato hash; and plus pan-seared jumbo sea scallops in a champagne shallot butter sauce, crisped shrimp, calamari, truffled mac n’ cheese, an assortment of salads, branzino, and Niman Ranch pork ribs..

They’ve also got a full bar with specialty cocktails like the James and the Giant Peach (Jim Beam, peaches, mint, soda) or head straight to the to-go cafe section they’re calling “The Shack in the Back”, with take out galore.
