Need a lil getaway? I sure did last week. After a week of dog sitting, followed by a week of jury duty, I was in need of some relaxation. Luckily, I headed down to the relaxing Inn a Laguna Beach and it was just what I needed.
I was greeted by the friendly staff and lead to a beautiful room that had a balcony that overlooked the beach and downtown Laguna. It literally took my breath away. The room had anything you needed for your stay. Full mini bar with reasonable prices, flat screen TV, AC and a ceiling fan, robes and a bottle opener (which I love, because usually you have to ask for it). I loved how overall the hotel had a down to earth, calming feel with a slight upscale beachy vibe. Everyone there was happy and relaxed, sitting on adirondack chairs.
At 5, we joined in the free wine hour in the lobby (followed by cookies and lemonade for the kiddies) and gave myself a little tour of the place. The pool was a quiet spot to enjoy the sun with clean, plush chairs and an abundance of towels. The rooftop lounge was perfect to a grab drink, read a book or chat with friends. All the guests enjoyed complimentary continental breakfast brought to your room in the morning, which is such a nice added touch. When was the last time you had your orange juice looking over the coast?
Laguna Beach offers so much. They have fine dining, incredible art galleries, shopping, a much livelier night life than I expected and of course the beach. The Inn a Laguna Beach is just a short walk to so many things, but also far enough away to have a quiet, peaceful glass of wine on the balcony and call it a night. I think Angelenos always take little getaways to Santa Barbara, San Diego or San Francisco, but Laguna is only and hour and change away and it’s a whole new world. Plus, what better way to stay than at the Inn at Laguna Beach!
