Pink Taco Sunset

I recently had dinner at the Sunset Blvd. Pink Taco (8225 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, 90046; 323.380.7474) and it is definitely my new hot spot. It’s the perfect place to grab dinner with a bunch of friends, have a few drinks after work or people watch while you basque in the sun. I love restaurants that bring the outside in and Pink Taco Sunset does just that. There are literally no doors and the restaurant simply opens up into a lively patio where you will find me during these hot summer days.

As for food, every table starts off with chips & salsa, but if you want an out-of-this-world appetizer, order up the shrimp hornitos. It’s jumbo shrimp in a savory sauce with bread for dipping. I have never had anything like it and I highly recommend chowing down on it. For entreés we went with the camarones (shrimp quesadillas), which my friend was extremely happy with and I had the lobster enchilladas that were creamy, sweet and left me full and happy.

The drinks here are pretty killer. We stuck to the margaritas with selections like The Cock Fight (Avion Blanco, agave nectar, fresh lime juice, fresh seasonal fruit and organic cucumber. muddled, shaken and served over ice), Puerto Rican Jane (Avion Reposado, orange liqueur, fresh honeydew, fresh strawberries, fresh ground black pepper, fresh lemon juice and agave nectar) and Pretty Bird That Kills (Don Julio Anejo, muddled serrano chile, fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice. shaken, served over ice and topped with house made grapefruit). Plus the House Margarita, The Rosalita (Don Julio Blanco, rose liqueur, Pama, fresh lime juice, agave nectar and a pink salt rim. shaken and served over ice or blended) and The Impala “The Traditional Mexican Cadillac” (Avion Anejo, Combier, fresh lime juice and agave nectar, shaken and served over ice with a lime salt rim) are all available in pitchers.

Check out their whole menu here.
