The Corner Door, (12477 W Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, 90066) is a new intimate neighborhood restaurant & bar in Culver City serving up a small pub style, farm-to-table menu. Decorated with brick, darkened steel, wood, concrete, snag a spot by the windows that open out to the street.
Munch on snacks and starters like Bread & Whistles (butter, herbed olive oil, ricotta & honey); Brussel Sprouts (roasted and fried with feta) and Cider Glazed Wings (chipotle, brown sugar, scallion). Main dishes are pretty straight forward with Grilled Cheese (comté, apricot jam, greens); Steam Mussels (white wine, chickpea, tomato) and Steak & Fries (butcher’s cut, salsa verde). Finish off with sweets like Horchata Soaked Almond Cake (“dulce de leche”, salted caramel ice cream) and Warm Chocolate Chip cookies ( with bourbon milk and coffee ice cream).
As for cocktails, the “Originals” are pretty popular. Try the Fortune & Glory (gin, orange, cantaloupe, absinthe and orgeat) or the Mezcallin (mezcal, lemon, ginger, and pineapple gomme). There are also craft beer (eight on tap) and wine.
Open 6 pm-midnight Sunday-Tuesday and 6 pm-2 am Thursday-Saturday. A late night menu with separate pricing after 10 pm.
