Beginning tonight, Lexington Social House (1718 Vine St., Los Angeles, 90028; 323.461.1700) welcomes pizza enthusiast and special guest chef Adam Tomei for a weekly “Pop-Up Pizza Tuesdays” series, featuring an changing selection of seasonal, wood oven-fired pizzas, in addition to Italian-American-inspired dishes by Executive Chef Jared Simons.
A native New Yorker and pizza aficionado, Tomei’s personal passion for pizza led him on monthly pilgrimages to Phoenix’s celebrated Pizzeria Bianco to research his own recipes and artisan style. During “Pop-Up Pizza Tuesdays”, he will turn Lexington Social House’s dining room into an intimate setting that reflects his frequent pizza dinners with friends and family, hosted at his home. Tomei’s selections highlight all-natural and nitrate-free proteins, sourced from Berkeley, CA-based Fra’Mani Handcrafted Foods. Each pizza’s foundation will feature organic tomatoes and Tomei’s signature dough recipe, which uses “00” (doppio zero) flour from Naples.
Prices range from $14-$16 for each 8-10” individual pizza. The menu includes: Margherita with crushed organic plum tomatoes, imported buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, and olive oil ($14), Ode to CB with Pantaleo cheese, sliced red onion, slivered almonds, rosemary, and olive oil ($14), Romano with potatoes, pancetta, thyme, olive oil, and sea salt ($14) and San Gennaro with buffalo mozzarella, smoked mozzarella, sopressata, and ricotta ($14). To round out each week’s offerings, Chef Simons will prepare a classic Italian-American dish, like Chicken Parmesan or Lasagna—each updated with his personal twist.
