Gusto

Gusto, (8432 W 3rd St., Los Angeles, 90048) is serving dinner serviceas of tomorrow. This unfussy, small restaurant seats only 35 at their bistro tables. Decorated with off white walls, dark red accents, exposed beams, minimal art and mirrors display their straight forwardness. It’s all about the food.

They use local produce in all their dishes including starters  like duck liver crostino with marsala and crispy duck skin; pork meatballs with ricotta & tomato; red wine-braised baby octopus; whipped salt cod croquettes and beef heart tartare. Entrees include housemade pastas (gargati with fennel sausage, Chianti, rosemary & parmigiano reggiano; agnolotti with English peas, ricotta, mint & lemon butter); red wine braised baby octopus, black olive, ceci, harissa; duck liver, Marsala, crispy duck skin; Quail treviso, chives, white polenta, sugo; Hanger steak with sweet potato, funghi misti, and Aceto Balsamico; Wild King salmon with Meyer lemon, cauliflower, hen of the woods, and capers; pork shoulder braised in tomato sauce and dandelion greens and pizzas (pepperoni, quattro formaggi).

They also serve up craft beers and Italian boutique wines.
