The Pikey, (7617 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, 90046; 323.850.5400) Sunset’s new British-themed restaurant and bar has three rooms for you to grab a pint. The cafe has comfort food divided into a menu of “Bar Snacks,” “Small Plates,” Large Plates,” “Sides,” and “Desserts.” Dishes include grilled flat iron steak with creamed spinach, cardoon & sunchoke soup with bone marrow, braised lamb shank, potted chicken liver, crispy pig’s ear salad with young kale and mustard, Welsh rarebit and Mary’s vinegar chicken with thrice cooked chips.
In the dimly lit bar, take a gander at the rotating selection of craft beers and specialty cocktails, like Divine Brown (aged whiskey, Dr Pepper), The Stanley (Starr African Rum, Pimm’s No.1, lemon juice) and Laddie Dill (Svedka Vodka, crushed cucumber, dill, lime, salt, pepper) and The Sloane Ranger (Stoli Vanilla Vodka, strawberries, champagne). After you grab your drink, head back to the Maharaja Room decorated with plush booths, Indian royalty imagery and brass crown chandeliers.
The Pikey is soft open until April 15 and then it will debut to the public. Open daily from 6 pm-2 am, food served all night.
