I reported about Haven Gastropub+Brewer (42 De Lacey Ave., Pasadena, 91105; 626.768.9555) opening a few weeks back. Well the doors officially open on Thursday, December 15th in Old Pasadena. They are serving gourmet, seasonal comfort food along with on-site brewing.
Foodwise, they’ve got fancy bar snacks, like buffalo jidori wings (with cayenne sauce & bleu cheese mousse) and a goose pastrami sandwich (with coleslaw, Russian & homemade mustard on artisan rye). Entree highlights include Hiramasa Crudo (with Ruby Red Grapefruit, Fresno Chili, Pickled Shallot, Micro Peppercress, Pink Salt, and Arbequina Oil), Duck Prosciutto Flatbread (with Leek Jam, Point Reyes Bleu Cheese, and Arugula) and a Vegetable Mélange (with Roasted Seasonal Vegetables, Pumpkin Gnocchi, Toasted Pumpkin Oil, Fried Sage and Smoked Sea Salt).
The restaurant also features pre-prohibition cocktails like the Walnut Manhattan with Buffalo Trace & walnut-infused liquor. There is also a curated global wine and beer list. Beer offerings include a 100 bottle beer list and 52 taps of craft beer, including 40+ international drafts like Duvel Single and O’Hara’s Celtic Stout. Plus, varieties brewed in-house including an IPA, a Bavarian Hefeweizen, and an Imperial Stout.
