Palmilla Cocina Y Tequila (39 Pier Ave; Hermosa Beach; 310.374.4440) is an upscale spot specializing in tequila right by the beach. Opening tomorrow, this contemporary hacienda lounge is decked out in hand-tiled walls, circular chandeliers, candles and a patio with a fire pit.
Food includes farm-fresh nachos de marisco with shrimp, Dungeness crab, short-rib taquitos with chipotle braised beef, grilled fish tacos with jalapeno cabbage, arroz de tomatillo & roasted garlic mojo, prawns pacifico sauteed in garlic, tomato, chile flakes, lime & tequila, chicken mole enchiladas with roasted lime pepitas and a cilantro lime skirt steak with choice of sides including honey lime-mashed sweet potatoes, and parilla corn pepper.
Expect a ton of varieties of tequila, Mexican beers and specialty cocktails including spicy mango margaritas, roasted pineapple mojitos, and a cucumber/jalapeno martini.
