The Strand House (117 Manhattan Beach Blvd., Manhattan Beach) is up an running in Manhattan Beach. With it’s eco-friendly, beach-home feel and they are serving up a “new American modern heirloom” menu with locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Relax on one of their four floors of patio dining with pizzas (Manila clams, bacon, chive, parsley & chile; forest mushrooms with melted leek & garlic); charcuterie (pork shoulder, duck rilletes) and entrees including crispy air-dried duck with baby root vegetables & apricot gastrique, and charred corn-topped Day Boat scallops. Walk-ins are welcome from this Thursday til September 1 and then they will begin reservations. Open Monday-Thursday from 5 pm-midnight, Friday from 5 pm-1 am, Saturday from 11:30 am-1 am, and Sunday from 11:30 am-midnight.
