Smith House Tap & Grill

Smith House Tap & Grill, (10351 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles) is  a mix of sports bar meets gastropub meets fine dining and it’s opening tomorrow night. It’s easy to see that, being decorated with antique brick arches, copper lighting fixtures, flatscreen tvs, and oversized leather booths with table-tap beer system (thanks to City Tavern). As for food, Smith House’s burger is topped with a bone marrow and parmesan crust, there’s a slow-baked salmon served with charred bok choy and a lemon-yuzu butter, and a dry-aged New York strip steak is glazed in a ginger-soy emulsion and sprinkled with five spice walnuts. To accompany your food, try one of their vintage cocktails. Many are bourbon and gin based like their Manhattan, Old Fashioned, and a Pimm’s Appeal made from Pimm’s and lemongrass-infused tea. If beer is more your speed, there are 120 available on draft. Yes, 120…so after shopping in the mall, bunker down here for some Monday Night Football, burgers and loads of beer.
